Bridging the Gap
Innovative technology has now connected parents of students to their teachers. Classdojo aides in bridging this gap between parents and teachers. This app gives parents the ability to communicate directly with the teacher regarding their child;s activities in the classroom. The app will work throughout the school year; which enables parents to be aware of their child’s behavior, incidents, and parent conferences.
The app will hopefully aid parents in speaking with their children at home to learn more about their development at school. Educators will use ClassDojo schedule daily activities for their students, and parents will be privy to those activities. Educators can also use the app to snap and send photos and videos to parents of their child’s progress or classwork.
Currently, ClassDojo is used by teachers in over 85,000 schools in the United States, including private and charter schools. New features such as discussion guides, lesson plans and etc.; will be introduce to the app so that parents use these tools with their kids at home.
The co-founders are also looking at adding features like financial transactions. This will give parents the ability to pay for their child’s field trips, school lunch, and much more. Besides aiding parents with their children, the app also helps students to keep in contact with their teacher’s. The app is simple to use and it has also incorporated FaceBook and soon other social media as a format for the online community.
ClassDoJo has a bright future ahead of it, as additional features will be added to the app. Since the app is a bride between students, educators, and parents; it is a great way for all to stay informed of individual students successes and needs.
