One of the less talked about concerns you have during your youth is the fear of getting old. This fear is so strong that there are many industries built on the hope of reversing the aging process. While these business may be able to delay the process for an amount of time it is ultimately inevitable. Luckily, thanks to advancements in science and technology we are getting closer to halting aging altogether.
Rejuvenation Biotechnologies may be the key to making the dream of eternal youth a reality, according to scientists at the SENS (Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence) Foundation. Sucessful investor and entrepreneur Jason Hope has so much faith in the SENS foundation that he is predicting the end of aging. He has been a supporter of the foundation for close to a decade. He donated $500,000 to fund a new laboratory in 2010. Jason sees anti-aging as more than just a possibility of living forever. He sees it as the way to give people a longer and better quality of life. Hope’s prediction carries weight as he has rightfully predicted technological trends in the past. This has lead to him being deemed one of the top futurists in the nation.
The end of aging would have a substantial effect on the health care industry. Pharmaceutical companies would suffer a great loss of revenue considering they largely rely on the populace ailing and aging. And since aging is an enormous risk factor for the majority of diseases our overall populace would be healthier. The end of aging would have its drawbacks. Our planet is already crowded and less people dying may lead to overpopulation and morals being challenged.
Jason Hope isn’t too worried about overpopulation as he doesn’t see anti-aging as cheating death. He just believes that the world may very well see a person live past a millennium one day.
